    Due to severe, long segment blockages resulting in numbness in the foot, this patient required a longer bypass than most - from the groin to the lower calf. The blockages in the artery were bypassed with his saphenous vein.

  • Saphenous vein exposed.

  • Saphenous vein harvested with ligation of tributaries.

  • Saphenous vein mobilized.

  • Suitable saphenous vein for conduit.

  • Groin exposure

  • Exposure of calf posterior tibial artery.

  • Removal of femoral artery plaque.

  • Excised femoral artery plaque.

  • Bovine patch sutured to femoral artery.

  • Completed bovine patch on femoral artery.

  • Saphenous vein sutured to patched femoral artery.

  • Distal vein being sutured to artery.

  • Final wound.
